- Directed project to globalize the Schering AG drug development organization. Project required standardizing complex business processes within and among country organizations resulting in consolidations and site closures. Achieved $110 million savings.
- Directed integration project for the Research and Development organizations in the Bayer acquisition of Schering. Managed site closings and consolidations. Achieved 13% global headcount reduction.
- Created capability for global resourcing of drug development efforts thereby enabling substantial savings in staffing costs. Designed and directed the implementation of a global job model for Research and Development including definitions of scientific and medical capabilities and job levels.
Executive Director, Berlex Laboratories, US subsidiary of Schering AG 1994 - 2003
- Successfully ensured business continuity and substantially strengthened firm’s ability to market oncology products in the United States by managing the relocation of a global business unit from Berlin, Germany to New Jersey. Managed competency assessment center and led the selection process for the executive team appointments.
- Coach to senior leadership of Research and Development and Therapeutic Area Business Units including the conduct of the bi-annual succession planning and career development process for top three executive layers of the organization.
